The lack of signs was my fault. I had some last minute, unscheduled travel to Virginia and ended up staying there for 2 week. The signs were locked in my trailer and the keys were with me. Usually I make accommodations when I know that I am going to be unable to attend an event, but this was last minute and I wasn't very prepared.
I think this is a good topic to discuss. I don't mind keeping the outreach things in my trailer, there is plenty of room in it. The downside is that I live in Elgin and may not be able to make it to all of the events. At the very least, I will have another set of keys made and left in a place where any of us can get into the trailer if I am not available. But that means a trek to Elgin for someone. Maybe the club can get a small storage unit in Rochester that we can store the club supplies / scopes and have access to?Thanks, John. I missed the server time offset. It should be correct now.
Are we on for this weekend at Root River? I am happy to send out a club email if so. What time would we gather? I haven't been to one yet.
Sounds good!
Dean, are we looking at Sept 28th at Root River? If so, I can get the letter from Olmsted stating that we have permission to stay there all night.I think that the challenge at Chester Woods is that the camp sites are located pretty far from the observing area. So we might have to drive back and forth if it is too far to walk for some. I've highlighted the areas on this picture. I've also never camped at Oxbow, someone else might have some input.
Update – I talked to Karlin, the Olmsted park supervisor. She said that we no longer have to call ahead of time to use the Root River park. We are allowed to use it after 10 pm whenever we want.
I went to this last night. They had a headcount of 68 people! We had two telescopes going, so people formed lines. It went very well! I plan to go back
Lonnie confirmed that we are still scheduled for the July 9th meeting at Oxbow
Great! I sent Lonnie an email to confirm that we still have the room. I plan on getting there early to set up tables and chairs. I'll reply to this thread when I hear from him
Where is Keller? I think that I am working until 8 or 9 tonight though, but still curious about where Keller is.

Hello! I am wondering if this has gained any traction? I am interested in helping and possibly setting up a camera / monitor at my home in Elgin to observe the same sky area that any of you all might be observing.
