Hello all! Just seeing if there is any interest in collaborating with the 2025 Astronomical League observing challenge?

    From the Astronomical League:

Thank you! That is good feedback. I will see if I can incorporate it and maybe even put it in the form as a variable for people to enter.

Thank you, Josef! This is very helpful. I wonder if I can direct the API to tell OpenAI only to use certain sources that we trust. I will work on it. thanks again!

I’ve been working on a personal project that some of you might be interested in. And I am very interested in feedback from you about improvements or issues that you might encounter.

Background – Before doing an outreach event, I like to create an agenda or itinerary of objects to look for with the group. I used to do this “manually”, but thought…[Read more]

I attended an exoplanet lecture yesterday put on for the Solar System Ambassadors about the latest exoplanet findings and part of this lecture touched on a topic that might be of interest to some of you. I mention this because the presenter (Rob Zellem) is doing a deep dive into this topic at an upcoming Night Sky Network on Feb 23rd that we are…[Read more]

We’ve cancelled our public event at Root River tonight. Between the 28% cloud cover and high winds, we felt that the night could be disappointing for the public if we are not able to find deeper sky objects to look at. If things improve, I might still head out.

Thank you both! If course, I did not have notifications for this thread turned on so I am just seeing your replies now.

I booked a rustic cabin on the edge of a field in Utica that I am going to try out this weekend. I’ll see how it goes!
