Us early bird members of RAC were treated to the crescent moon’s early am occultation of Jupiter. Jupiter, with its bright moons, egress from the unlit portion of the moon was especially cool. Naked eye, binocular and small telescopic views were great. Below is a video made with my 80 mmED refractor and ZWO ASI183MC camera of Jupiter’s emergence from the unlit portion of the moon. Both the lit portion of moon and Jupiter are overexposed for dramatic effect and to show the unlit surface of the moon.
