Hi Barb, do you get the meeting notices from Randy? He sent it on 12/30. Anyway..
Sorry, but the holiday party was last night at Randy's. πJanuary 5, 2020 at 7:48 pm #12528No, didn?t get it. π Would still like a calendar.
January 5, 2020 at 9:28 pm #12529Yes, last night. Sorry you missed it.
Clear skies!January 5, 2020 at 10:59 pm #12530It looks like it was on the RAC events calendar:
http://rochesterskies.org/calendar/action~agenda/exact_date~1-1-2020/I think all of the meeting and public observing dates are out there.
I think that really needs the dark sky weekends on it as well.
February 19, 2020 at 7:45 pm #12531Forecast right now looks like it might just be clear on Friday and Saturday and not that cold. Anyone up for going out somewhere observing? Is Eagle Bluff available this weekend? I looked at Root River and Keller the other day (before the last snow) and they are plowed, but have some ice. They have plowed only a small part of Keller, not the whole thing. The Root River lot is smaller now as the snow is being piled up in the lot itself.
Anyway… anyone up for this weekend?
JeffFebruary 20, 2020 at 4:39 am #12532i would if Saturday is clear. it's been a long time since i've had a good look at M42…and
i may come out sans scope on Friday.February 21, 2020 at 2:56 am #12533Dean Johnson talked to Addie down at Eagle Bluff and it is open both Friday and Saturday nights. Saturday night would work out best for both of us.
I can bring the trailer for warmth if I can get it out of storage. Some 4-H kids would be there also. We'll have access to the bathrooms. Post if you are interested.Randy
February 21, 2020 at 1:03 pm #12534I'm interested. Also interested for Friday, both days! Anyone else also want to go out on Friday? Want to make sure one day works this weekend. π
Jeff
February 21, 2020 at 4:08 pm #12535I too am interested for both days.
February 21, 2020 at 6:46 pm #12536Randy, will someone be there to make sure the lights are off in the parking lot tonight?
Kind of windy out there today. Not sure how much it will slow down this evening.
February 21, 2020 at 10:05 pm #12537With the wind today, some roads are snow covered and slippery. So right now, probably leaning towards not heading to Eagle Bluff tonight. Unless someone can say what the road looks like between Rochester and Fountain. π
Jeff
February 22, 2020 at 6:27 pm #12538I'm planning on heading to Eagle Bluff tonight. Hopefully with not much wind and sun, the roads will be cleared off more than yesterday.
I didn't head to Eagle Bluff yesterday, stayed home. I did observe out in the driveway for about an hour. It was pretty nice out there. Seemed pretty warm, a bit of wind. Should be good out tonight.
JeffFebruary 22, 2020 at 6:40 pm #12539Agree Jeff tonight might be fine. Joseph and Luka had good viewing at Root River Friday night I understand. I used binoculars and showed our dinner guests some constellations Friday nite just before they went home.
February 22, 2020 at 9:02 pm #12540Dean and I are both interested.
February 22, 2020 at 9:47 pm #12541Yup, just talked to Dean again. We both will be going to EB tonight. Get there around 6pm.
