Yet another Jupiter shot, this one with the GRS rotating into view.  Flipped vertically so the terminator is on the right.  Believe that's the moon Io on the right.

Talked to Dean tonight. There is some growing interest in Eagle Bluff tomorrow, Saturday night. Will watch the skies.
          Post if interested.

I would be interested in going tomorrow.
I'm thinking of going to Keller for a few hours tonight.
Anyone else interested in Keller tonight?

I may be up for Eagle Bluff tomorrow.  Tonight I'm just going to setup outside my house.  I checked out the dark site finders and its showing my location is as dark or darker than Keller.  I also just found out that MAS has a dark site observatory just a few miles west of Pine Island.  Has anyone ever gone to this site?

You're welcome to come out here tonight if you are interested.

                Darker? Nice! What's your address?
                Also, who is this?

Just talked to Dean. Skies too hazy/unsteady for ~2 hours of observing. Looking for next weekend.
                    Local observing recommended.

Hoping the skies are clear and steady next weekend as I'd like to go to EB again.
Seeing wasn't great this am and Venus is a tougher target to image without some filtering.  It's gibbous phase does show up well but any atmospheric detail (at least in my images) are artifacts of processing.

Eagle Bluff is open this weekend. I just talked to Dean. He is planning on doing viewing locally. I have company over so will be staying put also.

I'll try for Eagle Bluff tonight.
                          Anyone else thinking about going?

Radar showing a few showers west of Rochester.  I think I'll be staying home and hope it clears up a little later.  If it does, you're welcome to come out.

I think you're right Q. Looks like the forecast has changed yet again.

Looks like skies will be OK in an hour or so (now 8:48 pm) in Rochester.  Not much wind but the humidity is high and the temp is forecast to be dropping and so might not be the best seeing conditions.  I'll take a look at Jupiter and Saturn in 30 minutes or so to get an idea.  If you do go to the Pine Island site let me know; otherwise I'll be staying at my home observing site (which is not quite a dark sky site) but you are welcome to come over. Seeing wasn't too bad at 8:50 pm or so last night and Jupiter looked OK.  When I got back indoors I noticed we were in the midst of a power outage!  The local (S.E. Rochester) light pollution was noticeably less … but maybe we have to be a little careful of what we wish and pray for!!!
