Sounds like a great night! Wish I was there!

March 22, 2018 at 11:59 pm #12318I'm heading over to the Mayo planetarium. Hope to see you there!
March 23, 2018 at 2:24 am #12319John, it was good to see you at Planetarium, as well as Jeff. All of us, and Paul and Planetarium visitors, we had fun to watch Mercury, even very low on horizon between tree branches. Sometimes one could distinguish little crescent. Plus Moon, Trapezium, etc. Light pollution is lower that at 125 Live, but far from dark sky…
March 29, 2018 at 5:45 pm #12320We plan on setting up scopes outside of Mayo HS tonight, set up around 7:45. We're there for when the program ends at the planetarium. That will end at 8PM and we'll be set up so they can take a look through the scopes and also for anyone else that comes along.
If you're available, bring your scope and come out. A lot of people are busy tonight, so not sure if we will have many scopes.
Should get the moon and Venus for sure.
Also, starting at 8:20, we'll get an ISS transit!Let us know if you can come. 🙂

May 2, 2018 at 4:41 pm #12321Looks like it might be clear on Friday. Anyone not going to NCRAL interested in going to Keller? Pretty sure I will head to Keller if Friday evening is clear. 🙂
JeffMay 3, 2018 at 4:52 pm #12322Friday is still looking pretty good so far. Other info for Friday..
Sun sets 8:17
Moon doesn't come up until 00:42 — after midnight.
Jupiter rises at 8:29
Venus sets at 10:40Should be good. We'll have a couple of planets and no moon until after midnight. I'll be gone by then, but also looks like Saturn will rise around the same time as the moon. 🙂
Hope to see some of you all there.
May 3, 2018 at 6:40 pm #12323I may come…depends on if I can get the Bob's Knobs installed and my telescope
re-collimated in time 😉
jimMay 17, 2018 at 11:43 pm #12324Dean states that Eagle Bluff is open for viewing tomorrow night (Friday, May 18). They will have a couple groups (50 people) there. Clear Sky Chart looks favorable.
Who's in?Randy
May 18, 2018 at 12:46 am #12325A reminder, we do have our outreach at the soccer fields Friday night. Hopefully some people will be able to make that and help out.

May 18, 2018 at 2:31 pm #12326I'll be at the outreach tonight, but how long were people thinking of staying at EB? I would be interested in stopping by for a while afterwards.
Mike C:\May 18, 2018 at 8:57 pm #12327Clear Sky Chart looking a little muddy around midnight. Perhaps I also will hit outreach and then later consider if conditions are acceptable at EB.

June 1, 2018 at 7:10 pm #12328Anyone interested in a short time out at Keller tonight? Looks like it will be clear… I guess. Moon rises at 11:23. I probably won't even be there that late Sun sets at 8:46. Probably be a short night if I go. Be two ISS passes, about 9:31 and 11:07.

June 1, 2018 at 11:26 pm #12329Looking to head out to Keller tonight. If anyone is interested, head on out.
June 2, 2018 at 12:20 am #12330I'll be there with some easy viewing stuff!
June 5, 2018 at 12:07 am #12331Dark Sky this weekend, assuming that the weather holds. We're planning a trip to Eagle Bluff, if it's available. Anyone else getting the itch to stay up late?
Will Dean be checking with Eagle Bluff? If not, we can.
Also planning to go to Silent Sky at Commonwealth Theatre in Lanesboro. 7:30pm performance.
