Thanks for making the change Dean. I had 3" of rain in my gauge in Rochester last night so Houston county must have gotten twice as much. Also, the forecast for this Friday and Saturday look realyl bad so it is a good thing we can move Star BQ to another weekend. Hope to see everyone then!
The word for this weekend is "iffy-ness. Friday may be our best bet but forecasts vary from average to poor chances for clear sky. But Star BQ is not called off just yet. Another post will come tomorrow evening as we get closer to the weekend. Fingers crossed!
I keep hitting the refresh button, but the little white boxes won't go away on the Clear Sky Chart. Just talked to Dean. Friday, September 30th will be a NO-GO for the Star BQ. Saturday doesn't look promising either, but continued to stay tuned for another post tomorrow. If we strike out this weekend, next weekend will be an option.
Cloud cover predictions still appear to be in the 25 – 60 percent range by the various weather services. Have not been able to get a hold of Dean yet today to see what he thinks. Hopefully, I'll hear from him in the next couple hours to make an official call on the Star BQ.
It's official. Discussed with Dean. NO-GO for the Star BQ this weekend. The forecast continues to deteriorate. Will look to possibly go for next weekend.
Dean proclaims the 9th annual Star BQ will take place this Saturday, October 8. As always, we'll be watching the weather, but so far, so good. As always, stay tuned.
The Star BQ is ON tomorrow, Saturday night! Bring extra layers of skivvies as it will by chilly! But winds should be calm and skies clear. We'll spend a little time with the 7 day old moon as it sets near midnight. Grilling. Taters. Stars. Can't beat that.
When to show up? Late afternoon and beyond. Hope to see you there!
