Weather permitting, we will plan to provide public viewing of the Mercury transit on May 9th in downtown Rochester. The transit will be nearly 7 1/2 hours long, beginning at 6:14 am and finishing at 1:41 pm. We can begin at Central Park as the sun will then be rising above low level buildings to the East. By 10am, the sun will rise clear of most downtown rooftops near the Peace Plaza area. From there we could spread out to any sidewalk area with good exposure to the east and south. More information coming. Post if you can participate!
