I too, had a great night. Steve and I set up about 7:30 p.m. and we had a look at Sirius B and Jupiter. He was tired and headed out after an hour. I looked at Jupiter and saw what Jeff did. 2 pairs of 2 moons and it appeared that the inner two were slowly converging.

What was most interesting was Canis Major. I recorded the variable star R Canis Majoris, W Canis Majoris with Ced 90? in the same FOV. I think that is the open clusters designation. It is nice but not a standout Messier. I tried for Thor's Helmet, NGC 2359 but then clouds were making themselves apparent. Oh well.

What a wonderful night. Kind of different to be out there again solo. A person can get more serious observations in. See all who will make the pilgrimage to Eagle Bluff tomorrow night. Very much looking forward to that. It's been nearly 5 months since we have gotten out as a group.

God Bless America and all of you in the RAC.
