I decided to check out the Perseids last night.  I sat in my backyard from about 10:30 to midnight.  I saw a couple right away at 10:30.  The ISS went by at 10:33 and saw number 3 at that time in the direction of the ISS.  Probably wouldn't have seen that one if I wouldn't have been watching the ISS, low in the NW in the soup.  Seems like I had 6 meteors by 10:45… but only 4 after that.  10 total meteors, I think 9 Perseids and 1 other one.  Number 7, at 10:58,  headed  to the NW through the handle of the Big Dipper, probably not a Perseid.  Number 8 at 11:18, 9 at 11:34, and 10 and 11:44.

The backyard wasn't too bad.  It is west of the house, so it was in the shade and house blocked the moon.  And, it was shade.  The houses behind us were really lit up by the moon.  Things were pretty bright.  πŸ™‚

So, 10 meteors total, not that bad, not that good.  πŸ™‚
