Public Sky Observing of the Moon – 9.1 days after New Moon, planets Saturn, Neptune, Jupiter, Uranus, Mars, bright stars, double stars, and more by telescope with guidance from members of the Rochester Astronomy Club.
Mars will be above East horizon. Mars will be in opposition on December 8, 2022, when distance from Earth will be only 38.6 million miles (62.07 million kilometers or 206 light seconds=3m26s). Through a telescope, at opposition, Mars will appear 17.01 arcseconds across.
