Here it comes. Looks like starting tomorrow, we will start having visible ISS passes. Be sure to get out and take a look.

April 5, 2016 at 6:08 pm #12048Forecast saying sunny for Saturday, is that possible?
Is Eagle Bluff open this weekend? Possibility of getting out and observing?
April 12, 2016 at 11:11 am #12049*April 12 meeting postponed to Thursday April 14. Check your email for details!*
thought i would pass then on since i almost missed it! hope we will have clear skies
Thursday!
jimApril 13, 2016 at 2:23 pm #12050For the meeting on Thursday, looks like the ISS will be visible starting around 9:16PM. It will be almost straight overhead and then disappear. Supposed to be a -3.3 magnitude, so should be quite bright. It is supposed to pass very close to Jupiter. Don't know if it will be close enough to be in the same field as Jupiter or not.
April 15, 2016 at 3:10 pm #12051I awoke this morning to a rare phenomenon: large ring-shaped smudges on my eyeglasses! It was good to get out observing; It had been far too long! Thanks for hosting, Randy!
May 2, 2016 at 4:19 pm #12052Dean has called Eagle Bluff and they will be open for us this Friday the 6th, but not Saturday as there is a staff wedding.
May 3, 2016 at 1:32 pm #12053I hope the weather holds out. Looks like it should be mostly clear. If its clear, I'll be heading out there!
May 6, 2016 at 1:41 am #12054I'll be there if the skies hold out. I might be there even if the skies don't hold out.
May 6, 2016 at 9:59 pm #12055Just talked to Dean. He doesnt' think the skies will cooperate enough tonight to go to Eagle Bluff. I'm going to go home an see how thick these clouds are looking coming in from the NW and repost in an hour or so. Stay tuned.
May 6, 2016 at 10:54 pm #12056Blah. Too cloudy. Chance of rain. Not going.
May 6, 2016 at 11:07 pm #12057Well, guess that does it for me too. Not going. mostly cloudy and rain rolling in around 11:00. :-[
May 13, 2016 at 2:07 am #12058If it's clear Friday Night, would anyone be up for a Keller?
May 13, 2016 at 2:55 am #12059Paul Larson has invited us to set outside at Mayo High School (south door) by 8pm. Will have to make that call later Friday afternoon. Forecast is cool, windy, and at best partly cloudy. Stay tuned.
Randy
May 13, 2016 at 11:27 pm #12060They would like us to be at Mayo HS tonight. There will be no guarantee that the viewing quality will be good as the skies may not clear until 9-10 pm. I will be set up there by 8pm with the 18 inch scope and the trailer with the heater on. Hot chocolate too!
Join in if you haven't put away your winter clothes yet!Randy
May 14, 2016 at 5:41 pm #12061Kirk and I did show up last night and treated a small crowd to a a lesson on telescopes – and how they cannot see through the clouds! It was disappointing but still fun and I think we will have some new families looking for some more outreach from us.
I have unexpected company today and will not be able partake in any astronomy day activities downtown. But if you haven't noticed, it's a bit cold and windy out there! So if anybody wants to get out later when the clouds part, put your mittties on.
Randy
