Does anyone have plans for this weekend.  Both nights are expected to be clear, just hot and humid.  I plan on setting up out here in Oronoco but would consider Eagle Bluff or Root River if others are going out.

I'm hoping those clouds thin out.  I will first check out the hill across from my house to see if it is above the tree line.  If not I'll head down the road to 44th Ave NW and White Bridge Rd just north of Oronoco.  It's a dirt road with a clear horizon and little to no traffic.  Just 15 minutes north of Rochester if you're looking for alternate locations.

Tomorrow is looking like it might be cloudy.  Tonight, Friday is looking good.  I'm up for Root River!

The weather looks like it will be cooperating for this weekend.  Should we consider the Root River Park?  We keep talking about it.  Maybe this is the time to give it a try.

Got out for about an hour last night, had a little problem with my scope dew'ing up but Jupiter and Saturn were very satisfying.

I'm considering root river too, but I have full day of yard work ahead of me.  I might end up just setting up out here in Oronoco.

I'm thinking of doing some driveway observing tonight.  It's about as dark as Keller.

I planning on setting up at home tonight out here by fisherman's inn.  A lot less light than in Rochester.  I have a few open areas on my lawn and driveway if anyone is interested in coming out and joining me.

Looks like my evening is now free.  I'm hoping to be there around 7:30.  If I can leave earlier I'll remember to bring my solar filter.

It's looking pretty good for this weekend.  Is anyone thinking of  going out?  If you don't want to drive very far you're welcome to come out to my place NE of Oronoco.

I ended up in Orin, WY, just a few miles NW of Glendo.  Perfectly clear skies.  I have a few shots taken through the scope that turned out ok.  But mostly very difficult getting video equipment to focus.  Here's one that turned out pretty nice, you can see the sunspots.

I Changed my plans.  I'm still headed to Omaha tonight (Sat)  but on Sunday will be going to Laramie, I was able to get a room (ouch!) but the chances of a clear sky are much better in Wy.
