Post info here.

Yes, any updates on the StarBQ? Doesn't look too good. Earlier, I thought Friday might be OK, but now looks like Friday morning good, but then cloudy in the evening.. Rain Saturday. :(
-
Looks like 2.5 inches of rain in Spring Grove last night and more down in Iowa.
-
I agree Jeff - forecast has definitely gone down hill the closer we get to Friday. :'(
-
I'd say Friday night looks to be definetly out. There's been consistent forecasts of rain all week. Saturday....partly cloudy at best from 10pm to 2am, per Accuweather. Sunday night, on the other hand, looks clear. :(
Long range forecasts shows next weekend may be a carbon copy of this one. Double :( :(

Weather is not fair I tell you. Just not fair!
I am beginning to think I need to move to Arizona.
-
No doubt Friday night is a wash. I'd say there is still hope (albeit slim) for Saturday night.
Stay tuned!

Jerome, I'm with you. Have always wanted to check out Arizona. Tonight looks like a no go, and tomorrow doesn't look very promising.
Also, can I get directions to the StarBQ?
Thanks

Checked 3 different weather sites. The reports are altered since this morning but each reporting something slightly different. All of them predict rain moving in after 11pm. High percentage of clouds.
Tomorrow (Saturday) They say slight chance of rain, less clouds, but foggy (100%).
Anyone one have a crystal ball or a Vidal (hair dryer)?
Thoughts about postponing until next week (Labor Day): Who already has plans/commitments? Weather is totally a WAG (Wild A.. Guess) that far out.

I should make it next week
-
Dean has called me and said the StarBQ is off for this weekend. Weather is just looking too bad. He said maybe next weekend we'll give it another shot.
-
I'll be able to make it next weekend too. The forecast for next Friday looks to be almost cloud free through the entire Midwest. FYI, Neptune will be at opposition next Friday night. I take that as a good sign. :) See you then. - John

Dean informed me that, for now, he's planning on moving the StarBQ to the end of September: Sept 30/Oct 1.

StarBQ update!
Dean informed me tonight that this weekend's option for the StarBQ is out. No-go. Too much wetness in the driveway and surroundings for us to land.
Looking towards the new moon weekend of Sept 30/Oct 1 now. Continue to stay tuned.

Thanks for making the change Dean. I had 3" of rain in my gauge in Rochester last night so Houston county must have gotten twice as much. Also, the forecast for this Friday and Saturday look realyl bad so it is a good thing we can move Star BQ to another weekend. Hope to see everyone then!
-
Well, the weather reports sure have been a teaser this week. Clear, mostly clear, partly cloudy. What's the good word about Friday night?
-
The word for this weekend is "iffy-ness. Friday may be our best bet but forecasts vary from average to poor chances for clear sky. But Star BQ is not called off just yet. Another post will come tomorrow evening as we get closer to the weekend. Fingers crossed!

I keep hitting the refresh button, but the little white boxes won't go away on the Clear Sky Chart.
Just talked to Dean. Friday, September 30th will be a NO-GO for the Star BQ. Saturday doesn't look promising either, but continued to stay tuned for another post tomorrow. If we strike out this weekend, next weekend will be an option.

Cloud cover predictions still appear to be in the 25 - 60 percent range by the various weather services. Have not been able to get a hold of Dean yet today to see what he thinks. Hopefully, I'll hear from him in the next couple hours to make an official call on the Star BQ.

It's official. Discussed with Dean. NO-GO for the Star BQ this weekend. The forecast continues to deteriorate. Will look to possibly go for next weekend.

Dean proclaims the 9th annual Star BQ will take place this Saturday, October 8. As always, we'll be watching the weather, but so far, so good. As always, stay tuned.

The Star BQ is ON tomorrow, Saturday night!
Bring extra layers of skivvies as it will by chilly! But winds should be calm and skies clear. We'll spend a little time with the 7 day old moon as it sets near midnight.
Grilling. Taters. Stars.
Can't beat that.
When to show up? Late afternoon and beyond.
Hope to see you there!
